2024 Coach Paul MacDonald Alumni Softball Game

On Saturday, April 6, 2024, baseball alumni gathered for the 2nd Annual Coach Paul MacDonald Alumni Softball Game. Generations of alumni spanning from the 1970s to the 2000s were present, including Coach Mac's former teammates, members from his first and last team, and those from the 2009 CCS Championship, which celebrated its 15th anniversary this year. Everyone had a great time, and they are planning to come back again next year, so be sure to stay tuned for the next date. Go Chieftains!

2023 Coach Paul MacDonald Alumni Softball Game

On Saturday, February 4, 2023, the Alumni Council hosted the Coach Paul MacDonald Alumni Softball Game.

Paul MacDonald graduated from Palma in 1970 and played Palma baseball all four years. In 1975, coach Mac came back to his alma mater and started coaching. Coach Mac ended his coaching career at Palma in 1986 with back-to-back MTAL Championships marking the first for Palma Baseball. We had several members of his two Championship teams come back to play in the alumni softball game, Jeff and Danny Carnazzo, Joey Flores, Shawn Wilson,  Willie Beesley, Dave Martinez, Pat McDonough, Jim Bass, and Eric Esquer. 

We also had players from coach Mac’s 1978 Varsity Baseball team, Tim Vanoli, and Ken Scherpinski. 

In addition, we had players who played on the 2009 CCS Championship team which was the first any only CCS title for Palma baseball, Michael Valentin and Jacob Naval. 

The legacy of Palma baseball was definitely represented at the alumni game.
